We use Explorer 9 and I am just checking with our offsite IT support if we activated the compatibility mode and will confirm as soon as I can.
The initial "change" to our instance that I can see is change to the font type used. We use a heavy customized version of CRM so I cannot confirm if any out of the box functionality has changed. The system settings all seem to be the same.
