Forum Post: Updating preferences on existing leads/contacts via import

I'm trying to import a new mailing list (emails only) into the CRM - it's a database of about 19k - but some of these emails already exist in the CRM and so about 12k of the imports fail. How can I update the subscription preferences of this 12k that already exist in the CRM without manually ticking the box for each one?
