Forum Post: user cannot assign activity

I have a user who is in Marketing with role Marketing Professional and when they create a phone call activity, they can't assign the phone call to a user in the Sales Team. This is despite them having security settings of "Organization" for assign, Append and Append To.

When they click on the "Owner" look up icon the only people they can see in the filter is all marketing users, even if they change the look up filter to "All Actvie Users".

any ideas where else I can check?
