Hi All, I just wanted to put this out there as I nearly lost my mind to this frustration!. In the standard opportunity to quote, there is a button at the top that say - print for customer. (Awesome!) or so i thought. The default organisation template is basic to say the least and work if you are using all the default 'total' fields. You may also notice the the totals are all at the top of the document with the quote products below. But what if i want the totals at the bottom like every other quote layout i have ever seen? From what i can tell when the mail merge runs its merges the quote product lines on the the template and where it see 'NEXT' ~(which is mail merge rule) it moves to the next opportunity product and therefore next line. The problem i found is as soon as i created my own custom mail merge template and started using the 'Next' rule, the dynamic fields from quote product were there but anything from Quote vanished... almost like there was no data in the Dynamics 365 quote record! weird! The other down side was if had 2 quote products in the my quote and 50 quote product lines in my template i had modify the completed mail merge in word before I could send it to the customer as i would end up with 48 blank lines. I let the struggle begin... was i supposed to use 'Next', Next IF..... nothing seemed to work. If I use the NPS Snippet provided by voice of the customer, it appends ?a=[n] to the link in the email where [n] is the value that the user clicked on. It doesn't however set the value of the NPS slider when the webpage is loaded. Any suggestions as to how I might get this to work properly? It's nice to be able to have the buttons inline in the email, but pointless if the user then has to enter the value again on the website.

As this Question is very old, i hope it still helps the one or the other: My situation was i used Server-Side Sync to Sync Contacts from my CRM To my Outlook. I deleted one Contact and was not able to get it back by sync. As i had a Productive and Test Environment and i used Server Side Sync in Production i made the following: * went to the Testsystem and searched for my user * went to his Mailbox * Approved EMail * Test & Enable Mailbox * THIS NOW IS THE KEY!!!: There was a popup which statened "Sync items with Exchange from this D365 Org only..." I activated this flag and pressed OK This changed my Exchange Settings to map the Test Environment. Now i did all theses Steps again with the Productive Environment, so it would change the settings back to my needed Environment. Now all "deleted" contacts were synced back again.

As this Question is very old, i hope it still helps the one or the other: My situation was i used Server-Side Sync to Sync Contacts from my CRM To my Outlook. I deleted one Contact and was not able to get it back by sync. First, check that the connection and credentials are correct. Are you using AD authentication or Claims authentication ? If it's claims authentication, then there are scenarios where there are issues with the claims authentication setup that only appear when connecting programmatically (e.g with XrmToolkit), while the CRM UI works fine. If you are using claims authentication, enable CRM tracing, and also check the ADFS event log to see if there is more useful information

As per the previous post, the modifiedon field will only change on the contact_course intersect entity, so it would be best to query that for changes. If you need to have the modifiedon changed on the contact, you could create a workflow on the contact_course entity to automatically update a field on the contact (updating a field to the same value is sufficient) which will update modifiedon on the contact. However, this would add a bit of extra load on the overall system

I have added the Auto-Complete custom control on a text field for postal code on an entity. The postal codes are loaded from an custom postal code entity in which we load postal codes for different countries. However, we want only postal codes for the selected country (another field on the entity) to be shown in the auto-complete list. As I see it, this is not possible in the control configuration on the field and was thus contemplating doing this in Javascript, but can see no documentation nor any relevant methods on the control when browsing the object structure in Chrome development tools. I miss the the flexibility provided by the Dynamics CRM 2016 as explained in this post: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/crminogic/archive/2015/12/17/design-auto-complete-text-controls-in-dynamics-crm-2016 However, those parts of the Client API have been deprecated (as pointed out in the answers on this thread: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/305938 ). Has anybody experience using the Auto-Complete control trying to configure it through Javascript? Any help would be appreciated. Moreover, it seems the Auto-Complete on text fields does not initialize with existing field values: When loading the form on an existing entity that contains a value in the postal code field, the control shows the default value '---', which is incorrect. We use Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Version 1710 (9.1.0.2437)

Hello, I have two custom entities with a SharePoint integration enabled in one of the entity. My requirement is when a user upload a document in Entity 1, to save the document in Entity 2. Is it something I can implement using iFrame? Version Dynamics CRM 9.0 on Premise Thank you!

It gives me great pleasure to announce the new CRM add-on from XrmForYou stable – Notes Metadata Manager utility from XrmForYou stable. Well Notes (Annotations) have existed in CRM since pre-historic times. And perhaps one of the most widely used feature in Dynamics till date since its inception. After all it gives a nice way to store your documents along with some notes and description which can be read by CRM users. However with my many years in consulting, I realized the pain points of customers using Notes as well. Can I add new fields in my notes entity (Annotation) to capture some extra information along with Note Title and Note Description? Can I put notes are separate from my timeline control? May be in a separate tab? Can I drag and drop documents in Notes section so that it will automatically upload? Can I create more than one Note record at a time with attachments? We have progressed leaps and bounds but even with the latest version the answer to most of the questions above is “NO”. Also traditionally since inception, Notes entity was not customizable to add new fields and users were just limited to using only two field “Note Title” and “Note Description”. For trial and pricing, write to us at info@xrmforyou.com Well, we have understood the pain and hence we have released this Add-On for you. Step 1: Configuration It comes as a Managed solution. Once you install the managed solution and open up the solution configuration page, you get a screen like one below. The top section is the license information which will be provided by our team. The section below that shows all the entities which have been enabled for Notes. This is the area where you can configure additional metadata for your Notes records corresponding to each entity. I click on Account entity and the existing metadata account shows up as shown below. You can create up to a maximum of 10 additional metadata records as per the current release of the tool. The metadata currently supported are of type text and optionset. Above is the way to create a text metadata. Also you can make the additional metadata mandatory to be entered during record creation by setting the Required? field to checked. Below is the way to create an optionset metadata for your note record. As you can see from above you can configure any global option set and map your Optionset Metadata with that global optionset for the list of possible values. You save your metadata and that’s all from the Configuration Page. Step 2: Setting it up on your form The next step is setting up the custom notes control on the form.To do that you just need to include the custom web resource that comes with our solution on the form where you want to show the control. Hi, I had the same problem but after the MS fix, I was able to remove the duplicate. Yes, I wasn't able to do it using the WR but exporting the solution and manipulating the ribbon xml, however it didn't worked the first time when I removed everything from the Ribbon element: . So I tried the same but just removing the duplicated element in ribbon xml. When I did that all the custom buttons that I had in that solution were removed, I was expecting to have removed only the duplicate button but it caused to remove them all, I don't know why. Anyway that helped and worked for me because that's what I tried to do in my first attempt.

Hello Mikkel, ATM it's not possible to configure autocomplete control in UCI the way you want. It will be possible to create own PowerApp Custom Control when it will be released this April. Article from Inogic you provided will work for Classic UI but not for UCI.

I want to be able to make CRUD functions using asp.net core and connect to CRM dynamics. I've installed "System.ServiceModel.Primitives", to my Core project. All the tutorials suggest using Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.dll Microsoft.Crm.Sdk.Proxy.dll When I added them manually as a reference and tried to connect to the CRM using the following code: ClientCredentials credential = new ClientCredentials(); credential.UserName.UserName = userName; credential.UserName.Password = password; Uri serviceUri = new Uri(soapOrgServiceUrl); ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Tls12; OrganizationServiceProxy proxy = new OrganizationServiceProxy(serviceUri, null, credential, null); proxy.EnableProxyTypes(); return proxy; I got an exception on runtime "TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'System.ServiceModel.Description.MetadataConversionError' from assembly 'System.ServiceModel, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'." Can anyone help please and tell me how to connect to CRM Dynamics using asp.net core 2.1?

Hi, I have a scenario with Parent and child Accounts. Had to do multiple Roll up calculation on the Parent Account based on the fields in Child Accounts. Wrote a custom workflow to do all the calculations which works fine. But have a scenario below which fails. Parent Account A has a Child Account C . Now On Child C I wanted to change the Parent Account From A to B.In this case the rollup calculations has to happen on the Parent Account B which works fine. I want to do the Calculations even on parent Account A also as the child C is no longer with parent A. I tried calling 2 workflows on this. 1 is a asynchronous workflow which triggers after the parent account is changed and another workflow which is a real time workflow which triggers before the parent account is changed. But this is working when i tested with 1 field but when tried for multiple fields it is not working. Not sure before the real time workflow executes the asynchronous workflow starts executing and so the calculations are not happening correctly. My custom workflow only runs on child accounts. Can anyone help me with the ways that I can trigger the workflow on previous parent child account.

My organization recently moved to Dynamics 365, and all the CRM end users are required to manually update the From field of the outbound email to a shared mailbox, otherwise the email will not send. The From field defaults to the case owner. I find this requirement laborious and cannot imagine all the Dynamics CRM users out there performing the same mundane task on every email they send... The consulting firm behind our Dynamics 365 implementation should be able to correct this, right??
